You will be contracted to our UK Virtual Internships entity via independent contractor agreements, while we ensure internal policies for full-time employees still apply to you (e.g. standard benefits & perks such as public holidays, annual leave; working hours, etc.).

FAQs 🧐

• Can I be a contractor in my local country instead?

  • In most countries, it's not compliant to work as a contractor long-term in the same company as the line between contractor and employee becomes blurred.
  • Any contractor hired would be at the discretion of VI and have a fixed end date.

• Can VI employ me in my local country instead?

  • Maybe one day! At the moment, we have entities in the UK, the US and Vietnam.
  • Every country is complex. Each has its own employment law, taxes, nuances, etc. It's a full-time job to keep on top of this, which isn't sustainable for an organization of our size right now.
  • Any decision will need to dovetail with a wider strategic decision on increasing our presence in a particular country e.g. India. </aside>
